The value created by BESS comes from different value pools. Vimab BESS grants access to these pools and continuously optimizes usage of BESS based on local prerequisites and ever-changing market conditions. The value consists of either new revenues or reduced costs.

Ancillary services have been the back-bone of value creation for BESS and is expected to play a significant part of the total value created also in the future.
Energy arbitrage has been less attractive on the Swedish market historically due to the opportunity cost of very high revenues from ancillary services. In a longer-term perspective, we see the attractiveness of these services to go up as volatility and liquidity of Day-Ahead and Intraday markets increases, driven by increased intermittent production and volatile consumption patterns as well as harmonization and integration on an international level.

Finally, the applications of BESS are still very much in their infancy and we see an increased number of use cases adding additional value both behind and in front of the meter.
